We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t kick on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing.
Check Air Filters
You should swap out standard air filters each month. If you don’t, they can end up clogged, obstructing air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the true room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not kick on, give Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing a call at 866-397-3787 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
